JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation of electrical cable tray, lights, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
• Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• May have to drive light equipment and light vehicles
• Gather equipment and material
• Develop and review hazard assessments
• Ability to work in a Team environment
• Ability to work in safe manner
• Ability to make good working relationships with management teams
• Ability to mentor, lead and direct apprentices
• Ability to meet or exceed construction schedules

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Alberta)
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Rotations: 14/7 (Shift Cycle is subject to change)
• Day shift (Night shift may be required- based on client needs)
• Travel is required
• Camp accommodations provided
• Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team
• Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
