Construction Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized Construction Coordinator to join our growing industrial construction team. In this entry-level position, you will split your time between active project sites and our home office, providing essential coordination support that keeps projects on schedule and on budget. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in industrial construction project management.


Key Responsibilities

Field Assignment Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track progress
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, tradespeople, and site supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assist in tracking project milestones, identifying schedule risks, and communicating updates
  • Perform basic site inspections to verify work quality and safety compliance
  • Document site conditions, incidents, and progress through photos and written reports
  • Assist with site walkdowns and gathering field data for progress updates
  • Support material receiving and management on site

Onboarding & Mobilization

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires and subcontractors entering project sites
  • Support site access requirements, orientations, training records, and onboarding documentation
  • Coordinate mobilization logistics including travel, accommodations, and site-specific requirements
  • Act as a liaison with HSE and site leadership to ensure new workers meet all compliance requirements

Home Office Administration

  • Maintain and update project schedules, logs, and document control systems
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate material deliveries and procurement
  • Assist with budget tracking by reviewing invoices and supporting cost reporting
  • Support tender and contract administration tasks as required

Qualifications Required

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a relevant technical role
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for site visits

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of industrial construction processes and terminology
  • Experience reading construction drawings and specifications
  • WHMIS and/or Construction Safety training certifications

Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid setting. The coordinator can be assigned to a project site on rotation or may be assigned to the home office as needed. Site work takes place in active industrial construction environments where PPE is mandatory and adherence to all health and safety protocols is required.
