MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform work involving climbing, rigging, and working at heights in accordance with all company safety procedures
• Experience measuring and assembling rotating elements.
• Install and align machinery, such as heavy mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic, lubrication and pneumatic control systems. Tube bending and Swadgelok fitting experience is an asset.
• Start up and shut down equipment in line with company safety procedures for equipment under power and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Install power drives in correct position, and align power shafts, and pulleys, sprockets and couplings.
• Perform layouts and install machines and mechanical equipment.
• Use hoists, rollers, or trolleys to move machinery.
• Repair any problems associated with new equipment.
• Perform other duties designated by Construction Mechanical Superintendent as required.
• Use of hydraulic pin presses for assembling D-4 and D-7 Chains.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• New Construction experience, an asset
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others
• Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment
• Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team
• Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
• Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Saskatchewan)
• Fall Protection
• MEWP
• Confined Space (An asset but not required)
• WHMIS 2015
• One of the following Valid Safety Tickets; CSO or CSTS-09
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Shift Cycle: 14 & 7 Rotation (May be subject to change)
• Day shift
• Travel is required
• Camp accommodations provided during scheduled shift cycle.
