The primary responsibility is to support our project teams and head office management team with full cycle accounting and reporting and other related duties. This position reports to the Financial Controller located in Sherwood Park, AB.
Functions and Duties
• Develop and demonstrate expertise in the corporate accounting system
• Process vendor and sub-contractor invoices accurately and within assigned timelines
• Reconcile vendor/subcontractor accounts and respond to queries or issues
• Prepares bank deposits where required and record client payment entries
• Perform Bank Reconciliations
• Assist in Financial Statement Preparation
• Prepare reporting for both Canadian and U.S. government/regulatory bodies
• Generate reports including Payroll, A/R, A/P, Contract Status, and Job Cost as required
• Prepare reports for Management or Department heads as required
• Accounting related functions for assigned projects
• Assist project teams responding to questions or needs related to project costs or invoicing
• Input invoicing into owner ERP systems
• Understand contract compliance requirements for assigned projects and ensure they are followed
• Collect and track contract compliance documents
• Other related duties as assigned or needed
Skills and Particularities
• Related post secondary education
• Related experience in a similar construction environment (heavy industrial) preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years prior experience
• Understanding of full cycle accounting principles, maintenance of ledgers, cash flows, budgeting and forecasting
• Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
• Detail oriented with the ability to accurately prepare and enter financial information
• Resourceful and self‐motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to multi‐task
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge and experience with accounting software
• Key competencies are communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability

• Full-time permanent position working 40 hour per week
