Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

• Assist in the development of accurate cost estimates for projects.
• Review construction plans, designs, bidding documents, and technical specifications to ensure project feasibility.
• Evaluate contractor bids and participate in the selection process.
• Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs) between field teams and the engineering/design teams, providing technical solutions to design challenges.
• Support project managers in scheduling, cost tracking, and risk mitigation.
• Drive change management, ensuring all project change orders are properly documented and negotiated.
• Oversee subcontractor submittals and coordinate with the owner's representatives to obtain approvals.
• Assist in conflict resolution between project stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct weekly project meetings with stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.

Technical & Engineering Support
• Opportunity to work within the operations of our engineering subsidiary to perform detailed engineering design calculations.
• Utilize specialized engineering software (thermal modeling, process simulation) to support project planning and execution.
• Conduct site inspections to assess actual conditions and validate design parameters.
• Develop Request for Proposals (RFPs) for third-party services, including fabrication and subcontracting.
• Support international projects, including those led by our US and global operations.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to optimize construction execution by enhancing processes, tools, and workflows.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives, including the implementation of advanced project management software including AI integration, BIM modeling, augmented reality, and other new technologies.
• Champion best practices in safety, quality, and operational efficiency to deliver industry-leading results.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering
• Experience in project engineering, project management/coordination, or field execution in industrial construction or engineering.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills with a passion for tackling complex engineering challenges.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power Platform) and willingness to learn new digital tools.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across teams.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills—ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• A self-starter with a proactive mindset—driven to take initiative and own your work.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, permanent position based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, with requirement to work at project sites across Canada on various shift rotations, and/or to travel within North America for field visits and meetings.
• Must meet and maintain site access requirements for industrial facilities.
