MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Alberta)
- GTAW/SMAW
- F3-F4 Carbon
- F6-F4 Chrome
- F6-F5 Stainless Steel
- F43-F43 Inconel
- CWB Structural Ticket
- B-Pressure Ticket
- H2S Alive is mandatory
- Fall Protection is mandatory
- Confined Space is mandatory
- WHMIS 2015 is mandatory
- One of the following Valid Safety Tickets: CSO, OSSA BSO, or CSTS-09
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others
- Perform heavy maintenance work involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in accordance with all company safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Demonstrate practical problem solving ability. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Rotations: 7 & 7 (Shift Cycle is subject to change)
- Day Shift
- Travel is required
- Charter flights from Edmonton or Calgary to site
- Camp accommodations
- Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team
- Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
