Business Systems Analyst & Support
This mid-level role is responsible for the business systems that run our projects: our ERP and project controls software, SharePoint, the Document Centre, and the Excel and Power Platform tools our teams rely on every day. The successful candidate will keep those systems configured, secure, and well supported, and will bring our departments together to turn manual, spreadsheet-driven processes into reliable, repeatable workflows.
This role suits an analyst who understands how construction projects are estimated, costed, bought, and tracked, and who is as comfortable sitting with a project manager to understand a problem as they are configuring a system to fix it. You will work alongside our Project Controls and IT groups and with department stakeholders: they bring the subject-matter expertise, and you quarterback the work and deliver the technical side.
Main Responsibilities
Business Systems Administration & Support
- Own day-to-day administration of our business systems and software, including user setup, security roles and permissions, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Serve as a point of contact for business systems users, escalating to vendors, IT, or Project Controls as needed
- Triage, document, and resolve tickets in our IT and business systems ticketing tools, meeting internal service levels
- Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes; test impacts and communicate changes to end users
- Liaise with software vendors and external consultants on escalations, enhancements, and renewals
SharePoint & Document Centre
- Own the SharePoint platform as the company document platform, including site structure, permissions, document libraries, and metadata
- Own the Document Centre, including structure, version control, publishing, document owners, and review cadence for controlled forms, templates, guides, and work instructions
- Build and maintain Power Automate workflows and lightweight Power Apps to streamline document reviews and approvals, notifications, and data collection
- Lead the technical side of each department's move onto SharePoint, working with them on what moves and how it is organized
Process, Procedure & Document Coordination
- Quarterback the review and update of company processes, procedures, forms, guides, and work instructions: set the plan, keep it on schedule, and bring the pieces together
- Work with department stakeholders, who own the review of their content, to capture requirements, map current processes, and identify gaps and redundancies
- Translate department needs into system configurations, templates, report specifications, and workflow designs, and make the technical changes to deliver them
- Identify where data is re-keyed between systems and spreadsheets, and recommend integrations or automations to eliminate double handling
- Lead user acceptance testing for new tools and process changes before rollout
Project Controls Systems & Reporting
- Partner with Project Controls on project setup across systems, including cost code structures, budgets, and user access, so jobs are ready on day one
- Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards with the departments that use them
- Maintain data quality across systems and resolve discrepancies at the source
- Maintain and improve the tools used across estimating, project controls, and project delivery
Training, Documentation & Governance
- Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and security setup documentation for our business systems and SharePoint
- Train new hires and existing users, one-on-one and in groups
- Run periodic access reviews and maintain least-privilege permissions in coordination with IT
- Address root causes, not just symptoms, and build repeatable processes that reduce recurring issues
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in a business systems, ERP support, business analyst, or project controls systems role
- Hands-on experience administering or supporting an ERP platform, including user security, project setup, and configuration; Maestro experience is a strong asset
- Experience with construction project management or cost control software; InEight Billings experience is an asset
- Demonstrated experience administering SharePoint Online and managing a controlled document system
- Experience building reports and dashboards; Power BI is an asset
- Working knowledge of Power Automate
- Experience coordinating cross-functional projects: bringing stakeholders together, keeping work on schedule, and seeing it through to rollout
- Understanding of construction or industrial project workflows
- Diploma or degree in Business, Information Systems, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Clear communicator who can translate between field, office, and technical teams
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
- A strong sense of ownership: fixing the process, not just the ticket
- A team-first approach: comfortable leading the work without being the subject-matter expert on every process
- The ability to balance day-to-day user support with longer-term improvement projects
- Strong documentation habits and an instinct for building repeatable processes
- The curiosity to ask "why do we do it this way?" and the judgment to know when to change it
- Attention to detail with data: bad data in means bad reports out

- Full-time position
- In-office work environment in Sherwood Park, AB
