DCM

Senior Sourcing Specialist

DCM Integrated Solutions Inc. and TES are expanding their combined capabilities in the fired heater, package boiler, Once-Through Steam Generator (OTSG), Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), and associated specialty equipment market. To support this growth, we are seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist with deep expertise in supply chain development including new source identification, long term supply agreement negotiation, and subcontract management, for engineered, code-stamped thermal and pressure equipment.

This role is central to the build-out of DCM and TES’s procurement function for engineered-to-order equipment packages. The successful candidate will combine technical understanding with strong commercial acumen, sourcing globally for highly engineered components and administering complex subcontract scopes through fabrication, testing, and delivery.

This is a senior position suited to a supply chain professional who thrives in a project-driven, technically rigorous environment and is energized by the opportunity to help shape a growing procurement capability.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Specialty Equipment Procurement

  • Lead the sourcing of specialty equipment and engineered components for fired heaters, package boilers, OTSGs, HRSGs, and associated systems — including burners, coils, harps, drums, headers, pressure parts, refractory, castings, instrumentation, and ancillary equipment
  • Develop sourcing strategies for long-lead and engineered-to-order items, including supply agreements, capacity reservations, expediting plans, and pre-qualification of specialty fabricators and OEMs
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, P&IDs, weld maps, datasheets, and specifications, including familiarity with ASME Section I and VIII, API 560 / 530 / 12K, and applicable jurisdictional pressure equipment requirements
  • Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Estimating, and Project Management to provide vendor input, budgetary pricing, and lead-time intelligence during the proposal and project development phases

Subcontract Management

  • Develop, issue, and administer subcontracts for fabrication, modularization, field services, NDE, heat treatment, refractory installation, coatings, and specialty trades
  • Lead one time purchase and long-term supply agreement negotiations, including terms and conditions, remedies, warranties, performance guarantees, change order frameworks, and back-charge provisions
  • Administer subcontracts through execution — monitoring schedule, quality, safety, and commercial performance, and proactively resolving claims, change orders, and disputes

Procurement Execution

  • Manage the end-to-end RFQ process, including scope packaging, technical bid evaluation, commercial alignment, and award recommendations
  • Drive vendor selection in alignment with project schedules, code and quality requirements, and commercial objectives
  • Maintain procurement timelines and proactively communicate risks, mitigation plans, and cost or schedule impacts to project stakeholders

Vendor / Supply Chain Development

  • Build and steward DCM and TES’s specialty vendor and supply base for the fired heater, boiler, OTSG, and HRSG market — including domestic and international fabricators and specialty OEMs
  • Conduct vendor qualification, shop audits, and performance reviews to develop and maintain the Approved Vendor List
  • Track market pricing, capacity, lead times, and material trends (carbon and alloy steels, stainless, nickel-based alloys) to inform sourcing strategy and estimating inputs

Function Build-Out & Leadership

  • Contribute directly to the establishment and continuous improvement of procurement processes, vendor KPIs, tools, templates, and governance for DCM and TES’s specialty equipment business
  • Mentor procurement staff and serve as a subject-matter resource on specialty equipment buying and subcontract administration
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Estimating, Project Controls, and QA/QC to integrate procurement seamlessly into the broader project delivery model

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of supply chain experience, with a demonstrated experience on pressure equipment, structural steel, ductwork, and plant equipment
  • Direct experience procuring or subcontracting for fired heaters, boilers, OTSGs, HRSGs, or comparable engineered pressure and thermal equipment is strongly preferred
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, weld maps, and specifications; working familiarity with ASME, API, and CSA / provincial pressure equipment standards
  • Strong negotiation and commercial contracting skills, including terms and conditions, claims, and change management
  • Experience with ERP and procurement systems in a project-driven environment
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage confidently across project teams, vendors, and senior leadership
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; SCMP, CPSM, or equivalent designation considered an asset

  • In-office work environment — Sherwood Park, AB
  • Must be willing to work non-standard hours, as required
  • Some travel may be required to support vendor qualification, fabrication oversight, and project sites
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits
