We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Senior Estimator – Multi-Discipline to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Senior Estimator will lead the preparation of accurate, competitive, multi-discipline cost estimates spanning mechanical, structural, piping, civil, electrical, and instrumentation scopes. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep industrial construction knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior estimators while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities

Estimate Leadership
- Lead and own the full estimating lifecycle for multi-discipline industrial construction, maintenance, and turnaround projects.
- Review scopes of work across disciplines to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
- Coordinate inputs from discipline estimators to produce a single, cohesive, competitive bid.

Cost Estimation & Analysis
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates using industry-standard estimating tools and software.
- Analyze historical data and benchmarking to validate estimate accuracy and competitiveness.
- Develop labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing strategies.

Execution Methodology
- Develop execution methodologies and support high-level schedules in response to RFQs/RFPs.
- Work with project managers, construction supervisors, and engineers to optimize construction methods.

Risk & Commercial Review
- Proactively identify risks and uncertainties and develop mitigation strategies, clarifications, and contingencies.
- Analyze and interpret contractual clauses and commercial terms.
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate estimators, reviewing work for accuracy and consistency.
- Coordinate and participate in the preparation of tender documents.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements.
Requirements
- Related post-secondary education or construction supervision background (Diploma / Degree / Field Experience).
- 8+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction, with multi-discipline exposure.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering competitive estimates on large industrial projects.
- Experience with boilers, fired heaters, and related fixed/rotating equipment is considered an asset.
- Industrial job site experience is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Accubid and Bluebeam is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of scheduling.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated, coachable, and a positive team member with leadership ability.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position: 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week.
- Based in Sherwood Park, AB.
- Travel to various job sites across Western Canada as required.
